Child-Led Actions, Mobilizations, and Partnerships

World Vision East Asia believes that children and young people are really important! We think you can help make great changes in the world. Even though you're still growing, you can learn to share your ideas and help decide things. When children and young people speak up, take on responsibilities, and make choices, they start to feel like they belong, care about fairness, understand being responsible, and want to help others.

We work hard to make sure young people can join in these important ways:

  • Young people helping with our projects: You can help decide what we do to help families and communities.

  • Young people speaking up for what's right: You can share your ideas with important grown-ups to make the world better for everyone.

  • Young people helping World Vision make choices: You can even help us decide how World Vision works!

What is Young Minds CAMP?

What if you could make a big difference in the world? That's what Young Minds CAMP helps young people do! It's a special camp that helps them become strong leaders with good hearts. We'll learn how to help others with kindness and how to speak up for what's right with love. Young Minds CAMP will give you the knowledge and skills to find out just how much you can achieve! You'll get ready to share your ideas on a global stage and lead projects that help children in East Asia.

Young Minds CAMP is also a place where young leaders can learn new things, become even better versions of themselves, lead others, help their communities, and create a positive change. It will help your ideas be heard and inspire you to take action, join in important discussions, and come up with your own solutions for challenges that affect you.

They are making their voices heard

Imagine speaking to really important people from all over the world! That's exactly what the young leaders from Young Minds CAMP did! On June 7th, 2024, they had a special lunch where they bravely shared their ideas and solutions with grown-ups from the United Nations and other big organizations. They talked about super important things like how our planet is changing (climate change), why some people don't have enough food (hunger), and making sure everyone gets healthy food to grow strong (malnutrition).

This amazing event showed how good our young leaders are at researching facts and speaking up for what they believe in. It was like they were saying, "We can help make our communities healthy and happy for a long, long time!" Curious to hear their powerful voices?

Young Minds CAMPers' Research
on Climate Change & Disasters

World Vision East Asia's very first research project led by the Young Minds CAMPers in 2024 looked into climate action and staying safe from disasters. What they found out is super important: because many communities aren't fully ready, we need to teach more about climate change and how to prepare for emergencies in schools and on social media!

Twenty-eight amazing young people, ages 12-18, from six countries, worked on this report. They wanted to understand how the climate crisis is really affecting children and young people – their bodies, their feelings, and their families' ability to live. They also checked how much people know about climate change and how ready they are for disasters.
